A supportive environment for education, character, well-being and self-reliance.

Nurturing Education, Character and Self-Reliance

Darul Shafqat Society, Bhopal, is committed to the holistic development of orphaned, destitute and underprivileged children. Guided by the principle of “Talim & Tarbiyat” (Education and Moral Upbringing), the Society endeavours to provide a supportive environment in which children can learn, grow, develop good character and prepare for a dignified and independent future.

Residential Facilities

The Society provides residential care for eligible children through its institutions, Darul Shafqat Shahjehani for boys and Bilquisia Nursing Home for girls. The residential environment is intended to offer children a secure, caring and disciplined atmosphere where they can pursue their education and personal development.

Accommodation and daily routines are organised to encourage cleanliness, punctuality, mutual respect, personal responsibility and a sense of belonging. The Society endeavours to provide guidance, supervision and opportunities to develop healthy habits and life skills.

Medical Care and Health Support

The health and well-being of children are important aspects of the Society’s care programme. The Society endeavours to facilitate appropriate medical assistance, attention to health concerns and access to healthcare when required.

Children are encouraged to develop good personal hygiene, healthy habits and awareness of their physical well-being. Medical needs are addressed according to each child’s circumstances and available healthcare arrangements, with appropriate attention to medical advice and emergencies.

Nutritious Food and Balanced Meals

Proper nutrition is essential for children’s physical growth, concentration and overall development. The Society endeavours to provide regular, nutritious meals to support the health and energy needs of children.

Food arrangements aim to meet children’s daily nutritional requirements through suitable meals served as part of their routine. The Society recognises the importance of safe food handling, cleanliness and healthy eating habits in maintaining children’s well-being.

English-Medium Education

Education is one of the principal pillars of Darul Shafqat Society’s mission. Through DSS School, the Society aims to provide quality English-medium education that helps children develop academic knowledge, communication skills, confidence and the ability to pursue further studies.

The educational programme seeks to strengthen foundational learning, classroom participation, critical thinking and practical understanding. The Society also seeks to encourage suitable pathways into technical education, vocational courses and professional qualifications according to students’ interests and abilities and the opportunities available.

Sports and Games

Sports and games play an important role in children’s physical fitness, emotional well-being and social development. The Society encourages participation in suitable physical activities, recreational games and sports opportunities according to the facilities available.

Through sports and games, children can learn teamwork, cooperation, discipline, perseverance, leadership and respect for others. These activities also provide opportunities to develop confidence, maintain physical fitness and enjoy a balanced routine alongside academic learning.

Deeni Talim — Religious and Moral Education

In keeping with its commitment to Talim & Tarbiyat, the Society places importance on Deeni Talim, or religious education, alongside moral and ethical development.

The programme aims to familiarise children with Islamic teachings, values, good manners, personal discipline, compassion, honesty, respect for elders and responsibility towards fellow human beings. Religious and moral education is intended to complement academic learning and support the development of thoughtful, disciplined and conscientious individuals.

Higher Education and Career-Oriented Learning

The Society recognises that higher education and professional development can open pathways to greater independence and improved opportunities. It seeks to encourage capable and motivated students to pursue further education and career-oriented learning, subject to eligibility, available resources and accessible programmes.

Career awareness and guidance can help students understand available options, identify their strengths and make informed decisions about their future. Admission or assistance does not guarantee admission to a particular college, qualification or employment.

Skills Development and Life Skills

Academic education is strengthened by practical skills and the ability to manage everyday responsibilities. The Society seeks to encourage useful skills that can help children become confident, capable and self-reliant.

Depending on available resources and suitable programmes, skills development may include communication, teamwork, problem-solving, computer literacy, practical vocational learning, personal organisation, financial awareness and other useful life skills. The aim is to prepare children to face future challenges, explore opportunities and contribute positively to society.

Our Commitment

Darul Shafqat Society strives to bring together education, care, discipline, moral upbringing and opportunities for growth under one institutional mission: “Talim & Tarbiyat.” Its aim is not merely to provide immediate assistance, but to help children develop knowledge, character, confidence and practical abilities so that they can work towards a dignified, responsible and self-reliant future.

The availability and scope of individual facilities may vary according to the institution, the student’s eligibility, available resources and applicable rules and regulations.
